Luminous, poetic, unique, Lady Rainbow is a Japanese wooden doll that goes beyond the usual traditional Kokeshi design. She breaks the codes while paying tribute to the beautiful craft, the handmade work. We owe this surprise guest to Noboru, a young Japanese master craftsman located in the Sendai area. Driven to preserve tradition while infusing it with a touch of modernity, he warmly welcomed the idea of making a limited collection of Kokeshi in the form of a nod to our beloved Koinobori. For Noboru, when tradition is integrated with modernity, it chases away obsolescence, and ensures eternity!

The history of the Kokeshi
These beautiful wooden dolls that do not bend have been part of the Japanese handicraft landscape for over 150 years. They are given to children, but they also represent a unique decorative piece and even a fetish for all lovers of the land of the rising sun. Turned in wood that has dried for several years, they are then hand painted and varnished or waxed.
